Weekend in Chicago 12/1/2011-12/4/2011

My weekends in Chicago are alwys great! I am there not only to work, but to enjoy myself too! This particular weekend was exceptionally awesome!! After several meetings each day, I attended a few really cool events at night.

The “Watch the Throne” concert was spectacular…celebrating my HS friend Latrice’s birthday was fun (seeing people I hadn’t seen in years)…attending my other childhood friend’s skating party at the neighborhood skating rink brought back so many memories, and more people I hadn’t seen in a while.

and last but not least, the Project H.O.O.D. benefit concert with Raheem Davaughn and Rhymefest was so inspiring! It has been all over the news that Pastor Brooks of New Beginnings Church is making the ultimate sacrifice to help  families and children! They are looking to raise $450,000 for a community center on Chicago’s south side. Another HS friend, Yvenetta “Midge” Welch (Owner of Issues Salon) has been instrumental in this mission and invited me & a ton of others to this epic event.
